Default What is the probability?

I changed my oil the other day as usual. I put the oil drin plug back on an put it on good and tight. Then a few days later I took the truck in to get the serpentine belt looked atbecause it made alot of noise in the morning. I had a good arument with the slealership. They changed the belt with out my say so and they wanted to stick me with a $160.00 bill. Then after an hour they said no charge, but I will not get a new belt on the 45K inspection. Well few days later I see an oil spot under my truck. I looked and found the oil dran plug only finger tight! What is the proability for an oil dran plug to come that loose? So do I have to worry about what the stealership is doing under my truck?

They did a warrantee service that was covered by LR.

If it was open then they would of done it for safties sake not to mention make some money.

If there open we do em. LR dont complain.

And depending on the LR you get anything from all the fluids changed to a simple oil change.

Bird,
It is not likely that the dealer did this to your truck and in the same breath, it is very unusual to have the plug vibrate loose. Did you use a new washer when putting the drain plug back in, or maybe forgot to use the washer to seal the drain plug?

With this is up to you to see it the way you want too.

I personaly had nothing but bad experiances with Oldsmobile Dealer , Honda Dealer , VW dealer , Chrysler Dealer . All of them broke someting on the car , that could have been avoided if there would be at leat half a brian involved .

BUT i toke my LR to a Dealer , and then did Diag, and some recals , and I can't say anything bad . granted they barly did anything to it .

But the worst was the VW . They put an oil bottle cap in my lower radiator house ( so it did not fell in there , cause the water pump would chew it up ) . and the car all of suden was over heating like hell . And all they were supostu do is figure out why the car didn't idle right when cold . They replaces one sencor and moved one GND wire ( that was $300 ) .

Olds was just crukes , they wanted to charge me for fuel pump that was not needed to be changed , but two weeks later I had to take the tank off ( it was never taken off , so the pump was never changed ) . But after arguaing with him over the phone for 2 houers I got the "No charge" . Good for me , cause they didn't do jack .

Chrusler broke half the engine harnes plugs etc.. Looking to figure out why the car would not start when hot m but wait 45 min. and it will start .

Honda was the same , broke a lot of shit on the mottor , and I had to spend a weekend on replacing connectors like I did in the chrysler .

BUT . I'm still sceptical on taking my car to a SATAN .

Tsiart the stories I could tell you about the stuff I have had to fix that someone else broke.

although, I cant really throw stones, I have made mistakes as well.

mistakes happen at a shop. Were not perfect. its what you leave and let the customer take with them.

Although, no one likes to fix someones else mistake. especially if the guy is the neighbor of the SM and gets the gravy.

Default The same washer

I put the same washer back on. I never had a problem with using the old onebefore. As for cheaking the oil when the engine is running. I am not a boot camp rock. I have been turning wrenches for 20 years now. I know better. I keep both of my hands on the hood when the engine is running. Then I turn it off again make my change and start the engine again.
