Default Wheel arch height / suspension ?

Having just bought a 200 Disco i have a question in regards to vehicle height,
ie the previous owner said it had OME suspension......

I thought all OME coils were yellow ? as mine are black.

In the rear he said they were the heavy duty ones....yes they are hard and the rear bumber aligns with my wrangler which has a 4" lift and 33" tyres.

So when I measure ground to lower edge of the top of the wheel arch.

in the rear I have 35 1/2"
in the front i have 33 1/2"

Yes it has a winch and ARB etc so i'd expect a droop but is not 2" a bit much ?

Congrats on the new purchase... how about some pictures of it? If its HD all around, it shouldn't have the 2" of droop in the front.. you can level it out with a spacer, but you may want to consider new springs.

I am confused by your post.
You say you have a 35 1/2" height at your wheel well and you are 2"s low in the front, you cant be.
I have a 36 1/2" height at the wheel wells running 265/75/16 tires and I am level.

I don't have a full side piccy to show, but I have these on my work machine, but you can still see its nose down.

The rear slams when going over bumps as its usually empty, the front feels fine...just 2" lower

OK Disco Mike,, mine looks like yours in the second pic,
and when i measure
ground to wheel arch on the rear and then again on the front, the front is two inchs lower, if this is normal then fine.

Take your pic, put it in powerpoint and run a straight line from top of rear arch and you'l see the front looks lower on yours too.

Its my first disco, but normally the top of the wheeel archs gives a good reference point to see if the vehicle is sitting straight

I went back and looked, the one picture I had partially raised the SLS, so yes, I was taller in the back, actually with the SLS I can raise the bac end by nearly 3"s.
Back to yours, on the front, I would suggest you arder a set of 751 OME springs, that will bring you up even. As for the noise in the rear, sounds like your shocks are too short and are poping going up. Do you currently have OME shocks, YELLOW, all the way around?

Measuring from the ground to the wheel arch doesn't tell much- the brand and type of tyre and how it is inflated will change measurements. Measure from the centre of the hub/wheel/hubcap to the arch. Stock for a DII is about 19" rear and slightly higher in front. A level Disco won't measure the same front and rear, as the rear wheel arch is LOWER on the body. Use the body line and door handles as a judge more than the gap between the tyre and wheel arches.

OK found the specs on the UK Landrover site....and a nice line side view.....

so according to that when i scale the dwg mines about 3 " low on the front....ie in the pictures the body lines are parrallel to the ground

I'll have to do a good side view when it stops raining here.....5 days so far....

Maybe he recieved wrong parts or only upgraded the rear, either way I can't identify the springs.....

Mine looks like the second white picture....and mine has no levelling system

lots of people put the wrong springs in the wrong ends. All the time, people install the fronts in back and the rears in front. I don't know why, they just do... It's possible that is what happened, or it might have HD rears and standard fronts- see that all the time too.

I spoke to the original owner and he says that they were all OME heavy duty.....so is there any way that I can identify wether they have been installed incorrectly ie fronts in the rear..

Coil count markings or otherwise ? or do I just have to do a swap and see....

he had some one else fit them...
