Exclamation where is the engine number on the block

hi can you please tell me where the engine number is on the block as my previous engine blew an i am having engine problems slow to accelerate and sluggish i have fitted a new air flow meter but have been told there maybe an issue between engine and ecu any help would be very appreciative
