Hi all,
I have read all about the magic of Seafoam and the Discovery, but I am not sure where exactly I would introduce this product into my engine... I have taken some pictures and placed a red circle around a hose the enters the valve cover on the passenger side of my 4.6L engine (see images below)... Is this the hose that I would use by removing it from the valve cover, rotating it 180 degrees, and slowly introducing the Seafoam into the intake manifold??? Thanks in advance! ok i may be wrong, but i am quit sure this is where..
in your First picture, Dead center on the intake there is a black hose with red ring around it. below that should be a little entry with either a cap or a rubber piece on it.. the little entry below the black hose with the red ring should be the spot.

Jonathon,
Buy 2 cans of Seafoam, one for the gas tank, one for the induction. Also buy 2' of 3/16 tubing, attacah one eng to the lower fitting under where the v/c hooks to the manifold. Using a pair of pliare, while the engine is running squeeze the hose so there is no flow, but the other end of the hose into the can of Seafoam and allow the smallest amount to flow thru by slowly relaesin a small amount of pressure on the pliars. After you have sucked in the whole can, turn the engine off for at least 1/2 hour, might want to clean your t/body and idle control during that time with some carb spray. Then go see how much smoke you can make. Mike |

if you put it thru there the pcv separator you may end up with problems.
if you have any leaks its a sure fire bet the separator is causing them cause its stuffed and causing excess pressure blowing out the intake gaskets and the valve covers. The 03s and 04s are known for this issue. they like to suck up oil thru the intake.

I was thinking about using this stuff so I read this post. I looked at the pics and went down and looked at my 00 Range 4.6. The motor looked the same except I don't have a hose attached to the red thing. (I circle mine it is black.) On my rover it has that red thing with nothing attached to it. Just curious why?
