Default who's blowing that whistle? (strange noise)

i have an '02 disco and a few times while coming to a stop, it sounds like someone is in my glove box blowing a whistle. i was thinking it was brake related at first but i may have ruled that out. this evening, while coming to a stop, the whistle started to blow and i turned off the a/c and the noise stopped. it seems to only sometimes make the noise as i'm slowing down and is coming from the passenger area of the dash. is there a relation between my a/c and this whistling noise while i'm stopping?

thanks for any insight.

Sounds like you have some junk lodged in your blower motor behind the glove box.

That blower motor is the most likely problem. Mine has sqeaked from time to time, but never consistently. Check for junk, and then possibly bearings in the electric motor.

Don't worry... it's not as serious as junk in the trunk! That takes months or years to fix! But it only gets whistles from the Sir Mix a Lot crowd!
