Default Why Landrover.

My truck as begun to suffer from the sticky valve issue and have gotten some good advice here from reading posts and talking with discomike. However, my issue is how does a factory allow a truck to roll off the line with issues like this. I mean my truck has only 86,000 miles on it. When I bought my Japanese Acura it had the exact same miles. I mean engines are not really broken in until around 100,000 mile or so. Thus, my thing is why not do a recall, because you are selling a good truck minus the problems. I wonder why you never see many Land Rover I guess because the maintenance issues. I love my truck, but I don't think I would buy another I don't know. I am strongly considering writing Land Rover and venting eventhough I don't think nothing will happend.

No one ever heard of Honda when the Rover engine was built by Buick. It is an old engine design that did what Rover wanted at the time.
Yes it takes a lot more maintance then a Honda engine, which is certainily more of a high tech. engine.
Yell when you are ready to correct your engine issues.

Mike, I did the engine flush that you suggested and the light stayed out for a day and is back on. I am going to take it to Land Rover and have them diagnose it. The problem with me really doing the work I am capable of is that my wife and I are house hunting and I am limited to the level of mechanic work I can do in my apartment complex. Hey, I do love my truck and would never get rid of it. I am just praying that I can get a real answer from Rover and then I can take it to an independent Mechanic that Atlantic British recommended in my area. The only thing is the guy is not open on Saturday. I am prepared to have the mechanical valve work done. Anyway, going driving in the rover. Talk at ya soon and thanks for the help. P.s. switched to Castrol...
