Default widshield wiper malfuncton...

So i get out of olive garden the other night with about 2 to 3 inches on my DiscoII, and stupid me flipped the wipers on, it jammed cause of the snow about 20% from start, now the intermittent wipers stop mid stroke, complete stop and the only way i can get it to the norm is to either flip the lever down or flip it to a different position.

what could be wrong?

What do i need to replace?

Patrick

You may have damaged the internal stop switch which turns the wiper off in the down position.
Did you reset the proper angle on both the windshield pivots and tighten them down good?

i'm pretty sure the stop switch works fine, and i'm positive neither of the pivots became loose. it only malfunctions during the intermediate setting, during the low and high setting it works fine, going from low or high straight to the off setting, it works fine.

when i set it to intermediate, it stops at 80% of the up stroke.

so i dunno, i think the whole thing might have to be replaced, it works, but it doesnt.

boo erns

The only thing taht will cause it to stop in thew wrong position is that brake/stop switch that is inside the wiper motor.
