Hi I am new owner of a used 01 disco II.
I am about to have the car smogged and would like to know if they will not pass with with the ABS,HDC,and traction control light on. If so, how would i go about clearing them? Thanks in advance |

I'm not a Rover expert, but, I do not know how functions such as ABS(brakes) HDC(brakes) and traction control (brakes) would have anything to do with how your engine runs and the ability to pass emissions. HDC does utilize controls for the transmission and engine to optimize (engine braking) using the compression of the engine in a low gear to slow down the vehicle. I would not worry about the test. I would be looking at the cause of your warnings however. I would be willing to bet a broken ABS sensor wire could cause a chain reaction of all of these systems to error out.

To get them cleared you need to go to someone with a computer that has the ability to read the SLABS system faults. That would be someone with either Rovacom, T4 and the other I can't recall now.
Get it read and find the problem. Then go from there.

not it shouldnt but if you pull the fuse or drive around long enough I mean months then a rough road code will be stored in the ecu and perhaps it could fail.
