I have two questions... First, I am having my front heated windshield replaced, and the glass company wants to use one manufactured by PGP, rather than the original Plinkington. Is there any reason I should go with one over the other?
Second, the windshield motors have a weird problem where they will not operate when the temperture is below 35'F. If I twist the stalk-mounted switch repeatedly (turning it back and forth, from 'HI' to 'LOW') the wipers will move up slightly each time. When they get about half way up, they then run OK, so long as I don't switch them to intermittent mode. They will park themselves correctly when shut off. After the truck warms up, they work fine in any mode. Any ideas, or can anyone point me to a detailed description of how they work? I have the RAVE CD, but it doesn't describe how the wiper motor work internally, ie: how the park switches work.
