Default Won't fire after running ten minutes

After sitting overnight my Disco II will start and run fine. As soon as I shut it off it will turn over but not fire. I have to leave it sit for 1 hour then it will start and run fine until I shut it off and it won't start again for an hour. I have no dealer for 100 miles in my area and most repair garages won't even trouble shoot my 2000 Disco II. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Joe

Hard to say without Codes. Most Autozones or the like will scan them for you. Or you can buy one for under $100. When mine did that it turned out to be The Crank Position Sensor. However my scanner told me that was the case. Well worth the $100 investment.

One common issue like that is when the crank sensor fails, it won't alway throw a code but it can cause you to stall, have starting issue and lots of head aches.

It may however. Mine read "CSP Pending" intermittently.

Or, when it wont start, test for the 5 things you need for it to run. One or more is missing.

Thanks for advice. Autozone read the code as crank position sensor so i ordered but now I can't find the location on the engine. Any directions or pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again Joe
