Hi,
It sounds like your starter motor is sticking, the drive pinion some times dry out and needs re-greasing, and what happens is when its been left for a period of time it takes several turns of the motor for the drive pinion to come out and engage. Take a look at this link, its not a Rover engine but the same principle applies to the starter motor. Starter Problems sorted Regards |

So is it your concern that you have to try and start it 2 or 3 times before it starts or the starter noise, which may or may not be normal, hard to tell when all the engine noise is being amplified by the closed garage.

Thanks for all the replies!! I really appreciate em'!
Disco Mike: I guess my concern is for both the 2-3 tries as well as the noise. You know me and noises. I don't like them, and I never wanna hear them! I'll get someone to look at the starter soon!! Thanks again!!! John-Robert

So it is hard to know what the starter is sounding like, being in the garage. Has it become noiser lately, is it turning the engine over or is that noise on the video just because the truck is in the garage?
