Default 2005 LR3 Transmission

Hi.
I have a 2003 Disco II and just bought a 2005 LR3 SE V8.
The LR3 has a warranty until Jan 2009, so far (knock on wood) it has 34K on it and no issues. However, about 1 in 5 time when I stop then accelerated it will press zip forward more than it seems it should.
Please help.

Don't have the answer for you but do you have the bluetooth install on your LR3 and does it work? I have a 2005 LR3 SE V6 and I don't get to connect my BB with my LR3. Do I have to purchase an option or a kit. I bought it used.

Thanks you.

Default Hi.

I believe you have to get the option kit. My LR3 V8 SE doesn't have it but I believe they came standard with the V8 HSE. Sorry. Thanks

is it a bump/clunk/jerk forward? if so we had the problem on my dad's 2006 SE. it requires 2 patch files in the car's computer, its a transmission shift glitch (car is getting confused when to drop into gear), as long as its under warranty its a quick trip to the dealership and no hands will need to touch the tranny.

hi. yes it seems like a short fast excelleration, only happens occasionally, i was worried it might be something major...so it should be a quick fix then?

if its what i think it is, its just a tuning/ecu problem and it only requires 1 or 2 patch files to update it to fix the problem. if it isn't what i think it is, then i have no clue.

I have a 2005 LR3 HSE and had the same stop/start jerking you are describing. There is a software update that your dealer can perform that will eliminate this lurch forward. I had this done and it's like driving a completely different vehicle. I would suggest getting it updated.
