Default Air suspension problems

I have a 2005 LR3, the dealership said the compressor was bad. It was giving a suspension fault, how hard would it be to but a compressor from roverland and install it myself, instead of paying $1600 to the dealership. All advice would be appreciated.

Default What about reprogrammong

I am having the same issue with my 05. The dealership wants $1300, $900 parts + $400 labor... ridiculous. Now I am being told that the original pump is no longer available, replaced with an upgraded pump, and that the computer must be reprogrammed for the new pump to work correctly. My inclination is to first attempt to repair the original pump. Should that fail replace the pump and take the LR3 to a local shop for reprogramming. Any suggestions?

Is anyone as disappointed with LR as I am that they want $900 for a replacement pump, especially since the original one appears to have a design flaw. A local parts house wants over $800 as well so I am assuming it's not just the dealership that is gouging me.

No not really. The upgrade was part of a vehicle enhancement action in 2006. Since it's 3 years later and your warranty is up what can you say...

I don't think it would be a problem if you replaced it yourself and then take it in for reconfiguring the suspension control module if it needs it. They also upgraded the delivery valve and exhaust valve kit, so probably should have those and the latest level compressor.
