Put $ down on 06 LR3 SE with 204,000 miles on it. But its been owned bye the dealership the whole time and I have 25 pages of service records. Whats more important the miles or the service work ?
We need a lot more info. Was it a loaner? How much are they selling it for? Do the maintenance records show a lot of recurring issues or just standard maintenance and normal items like brakes, control arms, EAS components, etc.? Do you want it for an offroad toy or daily driver?

NAV cold weather, back up sensors v8 factory winch xeons on its third compressor installed at 177,000 previous one lasted a 100,000 uppers and lowers replaced but not finding any diff replacements and this one had the coating looking at the vin the only thing they found on the last service was small leaking of seals on front diff, that I don't like looking for a daily driver 7-8000 a year.
Still haven't told us how much. Is it an SE or HSE? Also, you didn't answer Eniam17's questions. They were good and would help us answer your questions.
7,000.00. It has 6,900 of after factory extras when new. Winch, fog lamps, light guards, door guards, skid plates and hey the cooler option. The last service record at 201,000 says catylyst low efficancy code and both front axle seals dripping. Record says need to start TA and contact LR , before ordering converter is RAV vehical and has history of SES lights. Replaced rear brakes and rotors. Can only Dealer's clear codes ? I'm 4 hrs away from dealer but keep my DISCO II 99 running. Kelly shows $9,000 poor 12,000 great. Open diffs and shift intrerlock ? And as in my first post SE. Dealership shuttle car with there driver. They use it every day wash it and park it in the shop every night.

I recommend the IID diagnostic tool to clear and read codes as well as service reset. There are are a few LR3s in Europe with over 300k miles. Disco 3 forum. One has 400. Could be a diesel though.

I don't understand why a dealer would add a winch, skid plates, etc. to use as their shuttle vehicle but that's beside the point. I agree with Roverandom, I'd definitely want everything fixed. Keep in mind these are different beasts than the D2 - a lot more electronics to deal with.
If it were me, I'd rather spend more money up front and get one with less mileage. But I'm also not good at working on these myself unfortunately.

They first set it up for the off road crowd and did very little with it. Then took the roof rack off and started using it for a shuttle. Can't find anything in the service reports on the diffs other than preventive maintenance, except for the last one says the front diff seals are leaking. But from what I have read on other posts I have a hard time believing that the diff's have never been replaced with over 200,000 on it.
The diff's are not as bad as the internet would have you believe. Some have failed due the breather becoming clogged and the oil being forced out. Others also had other lubrication issues but if it has gone 200,000K with the diff's it left the factory with, I would call it good and just keep changing the oil every so often.
Personally, I am more wary of older, uber low K units than a driven every day and serviced well high K units. Those "too low to be believed" vehicles often have serious, unresolved issues that have kept them off the road.
Plenty of help for any and all maintenance/service problems on the D3 site. For $7K, I think it's a deal, especially with the extra kit. Our LR3 is hands down the most versatile vehicle we have ever owned.

Thank's, How much of a concern are the small leaks on the front diff seals ? Last service report shows codes for caylyst low effiency. Can this be bypassed or cause other code problems in other areas if not replaced ?
You should get those leaks fixed and the cat's replaced. Try to make it part of the deal even if you need to pay a little extra (not full cost obviously) to make it happen. The engine management system on the LR3 is complex and it is difficult to bypass anything without compromising durability and performance.

Thank's, I figured that cat would be a problem. Full price for the diff seal job $ 794.00. Just the cat go's for $ 550.00 no labor. I have seen the front diff replacement for as low as $ 800.00 just for the diff. LR wants $ 2,400.00 installed.
