Default Engine Heat

I'm noticing it takes a long time for the engine to cool down. My garage gets all warm & even after a few hours I can feel heat breathing out the sides of the wheel wells & vent. Is this a normal thing for LR3? I just got the truck & I don't remember my other vehicles staying hot so long...

if the fan stays on after you turn off the engine, seems like an overheating problem. but seems like you're still covered under the warranty...still have the piece of mind...

If the garage door is closed it will take longer for the engine to cool off on its own. How long it takes to cool down will depend on the ambient temp in the garage. Your in Florida so I doesn't get that cold so cooling the engine down after you have turned it off takes a while. If you want it to cool down faster leave the door up so air can circulate in the garage but its not big deal. It will still take a while to cool off. I wouldn't worry about it besides, free heat in the winter.

Not necessarily so. In most new cars with electric aux fans, if the fan is running when the ignition is turned off, the fan controller will keep the fan on for 30 seconds. Sideview, another thing to keep in mind is that your new truck has a larger capacity cooling system than most cars, And even though aluminum engines radiate more heat, and cool down more quickly, the additional hot liquid will mean a slower cool down period. You have a nice looking new truck, Are you altitude challenged, or is your truck a taller than a normal one?

No I'm not altitude challenged & it's a standard height LR3. Previous to this truck I had a Jeep TJ & b4 that a grand cherokee and not near the cool off period. I'm not sure of the difference in cooling system capacities between the them though. There's no warning lights coming on, water temp shows normal, and it drives fine (although I haven't gone on any really long road trips yet). But man my garage gets toasty when it's parked
