My LR3 was involved in the flood in Atlanta at the park n go this weekend while I was out of town. When I returned and opened the doors water poured out. On the interior the water was maybe up to the seat. I am not sure how high the actual flood water was although I do know that the cars parked next to mine seats/dash’s were covered in silt/mud.
My vehicle cranked and drove back to Alabama with no problems although about 2 gallons of water came out of the tail pipe when started. And had the pleasure of wet feet for the 2 hour duration. Am supposed to talk to an insurance person by Friday and yes, the parking lot has claimed liability. It was parked on an incline so the deepest water would have been where the engine is.
What I want to know is how deep can a LR3 get before damage is done? And what damage am I looking at?
You will most likely have issues show up as it dries out. I would talk with your Dealers service manager, not the service writer, and see what he says.

I called him and asked him about the warranty being void, and he sent me to the collision center and all they did was give me a quote on the carpet being replaced. He said that the adjuster would know more; although he did say that yes, the warranty would be voided if there were any problems in the future caused by the water.
I think I am in a mess...
get that thing totaled! You will regret keeping it later down the road. if the interior was trashed from the seat base down, so was the body harness. Corrosion will eventually destroy the wiring. Any shop that tells you, "all you need is carpet" is wrong.

You are in for a battle depending on the adjuster. Let us know what he says and maybe one f us can push you in the right direction. Don't except any offer till you have a chance to verify everything.

Ok , one thing has been established and that’s that they claim no responsibility; go figure.
My insurance does cover flood damage but the only thing they put on the estimate is to have the carpet replaced and the seats cleaned. They also said that after the repair shop pulled the carpet they may find other damage.
I asked about the warranty and he said that any dealer mechanic will tell me that to get me to buy a new car.
He looked for a water line on the radiator and they’re really wasn’t too much of a line but it rained for 6 solid days after the incident. This is not going to be fun. Any advice would be appreciated.
