Default Hands Free Phone Systems

Hello all, new to here.
I am wondering about the phone system - I see some LR3's with an option that attaches to the right hand side of the steering wheel with a red and green phone paddle. I assume this is for hands-free use. Do I need to buy this in order to run a bluetooth device in my 2006 LR3 (which I just bought).?There is a phone button on the center console, but I can't seem to find any info on that in my Owner's manual - am I not looking hard enough?
I love my new (to me) LR3.

I wouldn't claim to be an LR3 expert, at all since I am new to the LR3 myself. On my 07 I have the same buttons. I was able to pair my phones bluetooth to the LR3 and the green and red buttons answer and end calls. I can't remember the code to pair to the vehicle.

Hope that helps a little

The code is 2121 but im not an expert either, my Iphone wont connect and Im not sure if its my phone or if I dont have bluetooth on my LR3. If you go here: Land Rover US - Instructional Videos there are video tutorials for it. Hope it helps.

If your LR3 is equipped with the bluetooth hands free system, all you need to do is to enable bluetooth on your mobile phone, you should see LandRover show up in the bluetooth discovery list. Depending on your model of phone, you should be able to tell your phone to 'pair' up with the LR3. The phone should prompt you to enter a pairing pin, the pin by default is 2121. Once you get the phone paird, you should be able to use the hands free features. I have my iphone paired with my 06 LR3 and it works pretty well.

just my two cents..
