Hello all, new to here.
I am wondering about the phone system - I see some LR3's with an option that attaches to the right hand side of the steering wheel with a red and green phone paddle. I assume this is for hands-free use. Do I need to buy this in order to run a bluetooth device in my 2006 LR3 (which I just bought).?There is a phone button on the center console, but I can't seem to find any info on that in my Owner's manual - am I not looking hard enough?
I love my new (to me) LR3.
I wouldn't claim to be an LR3 expert, at all since I am new to the LR3 myself. On my 07 I have the same buttons. I was able to pair my phones bluetooth to the LR3 and the green and red buttons answer and end calls. I can't remember the code to pair to the vehicle.
The code is 2121 but im not an expert either, my Iphone wont connect and Im not sure if its my phone or if I dont have bluetooth on my LR3. If you go here: Land Rover US - Instructional Videos there are video tutorials for it. Hope it helps.
If your LR3 is equipped with the bluetooth hands free system, all you need to do is to enable bluetooth on your mobile phone, you should see LandRover show up in the bluetooth discovery list. Depending on your model of phone, you should be able to tell your phone to 'pair' up with the LR3. The phone should prompt you to enter a pairing pin, the pin by default is 2121. Once you get the phone paird, you should be able to use the hands free features. I have my iphone paired with my 06 LR3 and it works pretty well.
I can't seem to see Landrover when searching on my phone bluetooth. Does that mean I don't have bluetooth on my 05 LR3?
I do however have a phone button above the radio on right side, but nothing on the steering wheel.
Can someone help?
I don't think that just because there is a phone button on the steering wheel or on the radio console that it means that you have Bluetooth. There is also a place to connect a wired phone (at least there is on my 07 LR3) in the center console. I think that the wired connection is "more standard" than Bluetooth. From what I understand you have to have a special Land Rover phone to make the wired connection work. This is also the only way to make other options such as directories work correctly. My iPhone works fine with the Bluetooth connection.
Hi You need to have the red and green button near your steering wheel to pair your cell phone. If you don't have the two button you don't have bluetooth. I have a 2005 LR3 SE.
Some LR3's don't have the phone buttons on the steering wheel and can have Bluetooth. The LR3's with the wiring in the center console are for a phone cradle to have the system work optimally. But like always the phones that Land Rover supplied cradles for were already obsolete before LR3 came out. Some LR3's have a accessory Bluetooth system installed or could be installed and it does have a different password than the factory system. To see if you have Bluetooth from the factory then you will have to have a dealer check your VIN and see your build options, or you could look in the passenger side of the luggage compartment area for a Nokia module. The Accessory kit is installed under the center console with a Nokia module.
I'm a new member from Ontario, Canada looking for advice. I have an LR3 and I'm having a hard time trying to figure out how to fix my problem with the hands free phone system. I am able to make calls through voice command, key pad on the dash, and voice button on steering wheel. Call always connects. I can hear the person on the other end but they can't hear me. Is there something I can do to fix this problem or do I need to have a professional make the repair? Please help.

Hands Free Phone Systems - LR3 No Phone Fitted, No Phone Connected
We kept getting the "No Phone Connected" notification on the stereo screen. My fix was to unhook the battery overnight. In the morning I was able to find the Land Rover LR3 as an option again on my iPhone, paired it using the code 2121. Good luck!
i could not find any bluetooth at all on my 04 lr3 even though i had the steering wheel controls . I turns out i nave the retro fit system ! pairing code 0000 , i was advised a hard reset might help now it works fine . at your own risk of course . i just started the car searched for bt on my phone and connected without touching any controls on the car. @wichipong: I have the same problem with the choppy Bluetooth on my '06 LR3. Did you ever find a solution? I have had a few new phones, and it always has been choppy.
I noticed that someone previously in the thread has mentioned to look, "look in the passenger side of the luggage compartment area for a Nokia module. The Accessory kit is installed under the center console with a Nokia module." I am trying to figure out what they mean by "luggage compartment" - maybe the rear of the vehicle where the seats fold down?
Maybe I have placed something somewhere that impedes the antenna on the Bluetooth, making it less effective or unable to communicate reliably with my phone. I will experiment and report back if I have any success.
Silly Land Rover....
I have to pair my phone on my 2006 lr3 every time I shut it down.
there is a work around on this forum I once read. But its very detailed and expensive. As goes Land Rover. :homerthum
