Hi Bruce,
I took the A-Pillar out and found the top peg was broken and the bottom u shape clip holder was 1/2 broken. That it's why the bottom was not flush. Since there was no clip to hold the Pillar against the body channel at the very bottom. Also It had not been replaced with the new clips. The New way is to brake of the bottom peg off the Pillar. Which I broke off with a plier. I covered the bottom and top peg holes on the body channel with the tape's that came with the new clip set to cover the bottom peg hole. Since the top peg was broken (I do not want water coming in through the top peg hole). I put the new clips on the pillar. I was able to put a clip on the 1/2 broken u clip holder at the bottom of the Pillar nice and tight, and I snapped the pillar back. Hopefully it will hold up since there is no top peg. (wondering how much help is the top peg doing). I hope I get no water in through the clips. I can see how water can ingress through the peg holes. I think what happens is that the pegs break, come lose, or since the foam around the pegs are not solid it can let water through.
Dave
