Just want to introduce myself. First thread posted on this site. Hoping it will be first of many. I am a major car enthusiast. Recently bought the LR3 about 7 months ago.
I like the air suspension but wonder if you can program it to drop lower maybe another two inches...Any ideas or mods to do that? I am in southern california if anyone ever wants to cruise it or hang out. Here's some pics of my ride hope you enjoy the pictures. All opinions are welcomed. more pics to come. Welcome to the forum. Nice pictures of your vehicle. I also don't know if you can lower it as I still haven't got passed the D1 model.

So funny. I spend tons of time and effort to lift my coil sprung LR3, and this guy wants to lower his.
SoCal, maybe we should trade? Mine is all painted out monochrome white, with custom silver interior. Might appeal to you. ![]() |

Welcome to the forum SoCal. Spend more time on here and the bug will get ya...you'll start off with a little beach driving, then you'll want to check out Pismo Beach, and before you know it, you'll be bitten by the bug, modify your truck accordingly and you'll be hitting Holister Hills with the rest of the Cali members! I give it 4 months...hehe

I think that LR3 looks cool with those rims on it. Sure, it may not be what most people on the site are doing with their vehicles, but isn't that part of the attraction?
I don't know if the LR3 can go any lower than access height, but even at that height it looks pretty sweet. What size tires are on there?

deeker: i am running 285/35/22 which i find to be not wide enough. I plan on getting 305/35/22 next time around for a more tougher look.
I am reallly impressed at the off road capabilities of the LR3. I only wish their were off road routes in newport beach. Nwoods: I'd love to meet you and see what you have done to your car or maybe go on a mini off road adventure. Maybe then i'll dump some money in off roading. But nonetheless your ride looks clean bro. thanks for everyones input. |

There are lots of places around here, within an hour or two. My website is full of trail info. www.nextstepdesigns.com - click on Trails on the right.
A word of caution though. Most people in these Land Rover forums lean towards off road modifications and accessories, and view decreasing the abilities of the truck with street oriented items as a negative step. Please understand this is no reflection upon you as a person, but a lot of people will wish they had the money to pour into a shiny new LR3 with rims, tires, trims, etc. And for them, to see that money going towards something other than making a burly trail rig is just hard for them to take. You may find more like minded people on Range Rover Sport forums, like this one: http://www.rrsport.co.uk/forum/ As an example, there are the Ten Commandments of Land Rover Ownership: (by Gotrovr on lrrforums) 1) Thou shall not Bling Bling thy Rover. Ghettoizing or installing 20″ wheels, chrome wheels, or wheels with spinners is not allowed and is punishable by car crusher or forced sale on a shady used car lot. 2) Thou shall never leave thy fellow Rover behind. Failure to assist a disabled or God forbid stuck Rover shall be punishable by banishment from his or her club or by keel hauling thru the mud with thy pants down. 3) Thou shall not drink and drive. It is permissible to drive first then drink. Drinking while driving is a jeep thing. 4) Thou shall not modify thy Land Rover for only trips to the mall, grocery store or soccer practice. Failure to frequently drive off-road a modified Land Rover shall bring upon the Owner the title of “Mall Queen” 5) Thou shall not sacrifice thy Land Rover as a parts truck without a proper Christening by 12 year old bottle of Scotch. Failure to first “Take a swig” shall make void the first Christening and shall force the Owner to buy another 12 year old bottle of Scotch and try again. 6) Thou shall wave while passing other Land Rovers regardless of type or gender. Failure of the other Rover driver to return a friendly wave may result in the first waiver to point his or her middle finger instead. 7) Thou shall not use gas with an octane rating lower than 91. Smelly exhaust is a by product of Bad Gas. Rover owners who have Bad Gas must camp down wind of the camp site. 8) Thou shall not eat Egg Beaters for breakfast while on a Rover outing. Improper ingestion of Egg Beaters may contribute to smelly exhaust. “My eggs will break” is not a legitimate excuse as real Land Rover drivers don’t break their eggs while on the trail. Punishment for eating Egg Beaters is the forced drinking of warm Bud Lite for the remainder of the trip. 9) Thou shall not covet thy neighbor’s rover. As a Land Rover Owner it is your responsibility to build a stronger more capable rover than thy neighbor’s rover with at least a roof rack, hella lights, after market bumper, lift kit, sliders, winch, bigger tires and stickers. 10) Thou shall not own more than 4 Land Rovers at any one time. Because the law of diminishing returns does not apply to Land Rover ownership, Rover Owners risk the law of bankruptcy or threat of divorce by spending all their time and money on maintenance and mods. |

Nwoods: Thanks for your insight. Well originally I bought the LR3 to tow my little 23ft fountain sportfish CC boat.
I didn't want to cruise around in stocks. Plus owning a wheel company you have to sport your own wheels cause why in world would i put someone else's wheels and promote their business...hehehe. Its funny how people would get sour looking at my ride. lol... Anyways, I am putting a Full Image Dynamics System into the LR3 tomorrow. Pictures will soon folllow afterwards. Well i'll be busy with my schedule until after FEB 25th (grand opening of one of my retail stores being opened in Newport Beach) but after that I would love to cruise outdoors with several other LR3 and see myself what kind of damage u guys can do. maybe then I will have a new addiction and a new hobby. =) Any kind of events or cruises coming up in the near area? |
