Default Highway Performance of LR3/LR4

I'm thinking of buying a '10 LR4 and i need your input on the drivability of the LR3/LR4 platform at highway speeds. 70-80MPH is where i would be most concerned as this is the speeds when my '04 Discovery II starts to feel a bit uneasy. Fuel consumption is surly better than the Disco.

Also, any other input on this decision is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hi,

Have put about 2000 miles on my LR4, and its been a great drive. i havent driven it 80 mph yet, but 70 is smooth and easy. Best thing would be to test drive one and see for yourself.

hope that helps.

This past summer I pushed my LR3 to about 110 mph on the highway and it drove just like it did at 70, 80. or 90 mph. Fuel consumption climbs over 75 mph and the mpg drops like a stone on my V6.

they cruise at 70-80 without issue, very comfortable, definitely no "uneasy" symptoms at all. gas milage probably suffers any faster, but my v8 is pretty stable so far on the MPG.

The wife and I just got back from driving the Cal coast HWY 1 to Sonoma then back down Hwy 5 and the I-10 and averaged 74 mph on the way home with 16.5 mpg. Over 1500 miles round trip back to AZ.

The LR3 performs very well at highway speeds and is extremely stable. I was pleasantly suprised on the switchbacks of Hwy 1 and the Pirelli Scorpion ATR's worked great.

I race motorcycles here in CCS in AZ and was impressed with the LR3 on the corners for being such a heavy vehicle. My LR3 is a 06 HSE.

Get one you will not be dissapointed.

Oh and I can only imagine that the LR4 will exceed the LR3's performance.

AGREED... LR3 is great on the highway... and I also have the Pirelli Scorpion ATR's. They're the best tires by far...
