Default I pulled a real smooth move...

So I thought I would be super cool and get to this upper parking lot yesterday by driving over 2 curbs, with the second being higher because of an upward incline. I hit it straight, without off road height selected because I thought there was enough clearance but I was wrong. I rolled the fronts down the curb and caught the rear cross-member ( the one holding up the T-case) right on the curbs backside and took a chunk out. I bent the shizzle out of the member shifting the T-case back and now it makes a little clicking sound. I have to wait until Monday to get the new part which is only $72. Not bad for such a dumb mistake. I am sure the clicking will be okay as it is binding up from being moved....and thats after the new cross-member goes in, but my pride was pretty bruised. Has anyone else done this, or am I really that clumsy? I will tell you one thing, next time I will have it raised. Pics to come on Monday of a side by side comparison of my rookie mistake.

LOL! Sounds like fun though! Can't say I've never made a move like that in my rover...

It seemed to be low enough that off road height would be un-necessary. Boy was I wrong. I bet if i had taken it from an angle, it would have been okay. I had to take a cab to work today and leave the Rover home no way in hell I would risk driving it that way! Lesson learned...

No it doesnt.. it sounds like a retarded move and he got mildly spanked by it. Luckily for him, the damage was minimal and hopefully he wont try a stupid move like that again in a public parking lot and that no one saw him doing it.

Dont encourage bad/stupid newbie behavior by saying it sounds like fun when they should be doing that on a trail somewhere, not at the malls parking lot.

Why so late? Um....I just recently got the money together to fix it back up again. Thanks for the offer though, on the DSM parts. I am in CO so that won't work. About the damage, I was going less than a mile an hour and rolled my fronts down the curb, and it was just the right spot to catch the curb. Is what thermal?

Retarded? Get to know someone first before you start running your mouth. I was trying to find a close parking spot for my VERY PREGNANT WIFE. Dick. We were at the hospital trying to get some troubling things taken care of. I am not a newb, get the facts straight before you open your mouth. About the spankage, I was hardly fazed to say the least. Obviously I have enough money to not worry. Luckily for me? Give it a rest. You wanna put on the daddy pants, go adopt a kid. Otherwise, don't post on my threads if you can't help but be a dick.

"Get my facts straight"? Well hotshot, seems like you need to decide which story it's actually going to be before you start telling me to get the facts straight.

So you thought it would be (your words) "super cool" bouncing her over curbs despite her condition was the best idea rather than driving around to the spot?

You are, like it or not, and your entire first post shows it quite clearly. You were the one that called yourself a rookie, trying to mall crawl over curbs straight on, rather than at an angle, in a parking lot (and failing BTW), in low-rider mode none the less.

Which was my point since it was only a $74 part and nothing else got jacked up. But I am wondering, why if you have so much money, why didnt you just drive the truck today instead of taking the cab? You have the money, who care what else could break right?

Hey newbie.. if you want to put on the wheeling pants, how about you actually learn to drive your truck properly like a responsible wheeler and not embarrass the community by bending your junk on a FREAKING PARKING CURB trying to be cool!!

For the record very pregnant wives with troubling problems usually are dropped off at the front of the hospital entrance or labor and delivery entrance. At least that's what I did when I had troubling pregnancy problems.

I'm not going to sit here and split hairs. I have fun doing the mundane task of finding close spot. I messed up. Whatever. I'll just keep to myself since it seems I had a bullseye on me somehow. I'm not an ignorant kid, thats all I am saying. I have fun with life and I will probably climb over some other object and learn something else. Sure I am new to wheeling but not new to life. Way to encourage someone below you on the scale here. For the record, the wife was not efacing (not sure if thats the right spelling) after all. She didn't have to walk very far AFTER the appointment back to the truck. I had no problem getting the part and get it on the truck so its no big deal at this point. Its always easiest to see where you went wrong after the fact. You will never see me doing any of that again, but hey thanks for pointing that out for me in detail because i'm justa too stoopid to figer it ooot.....
