I'm having some issues with my keyless entry and I can't quite seem to figure out what the deal is. I read that the battery automatically recharges when it starts the vehicle but it doesn't seem to be holding a charge. Locking the doors after getting out of the vehicle is never been the problem although sometimes it takes two clicks of the lock button. Unlocking however is always hit or miss and it doesn't seem to have any correlation with the amount of time in between locking and unlocking the vehicle. There's hardly ever a time that I can unlock all the doors, generally only the driver's door is unlocked. This afternoon I walked in a fast food restaurant after locking the door and not twenty minutes later I was popping the key access off and unlocking the car manually. Yet over the 24 hours before going into the FF restaurant I locked and unlocked the door multiple times before starting the engine.
Interestingly, the usual two pushes of the lock button is no longer required. With one click the vehicle super locks and flashes three times. And another thing, there are times after clicking the unlock button that the lights flash 6 or 7 times pretty quickly but does unlock the doors. I've never seen the display say low key battery like the manual said it should so I just haven't figure out if that's the problem or not. I talked to a friend at the dealership and he said that it's a couple of weeks to get a new key so I'm hoping that there's some other issue.

Do you have two keys? Does it do it with both sets?
The way it's behaving sounds like it's misunderstanding security codes transmitted by the key. Could be key screwy or the central junction box in the truck maybe. Or maybe it just doesn't care for fast food.

I wish I had to sets : /
I'm gonna get a service appointment set up tomorrow so maybe they'll be able to get it worked out.
