Default Looking for reasonnably priced LR3 Tow Hitch receiver

Hi All,

big disappointment for me when I switched from my Disco to a LR3: no more Class III receiver ... and a very pricey option. Now I can't carry my kids bikes around any more.
If anyone hears about one for sale under $300, pls give me a ring
Also, hints on making a custom wiring for a trailer are most welcomed (once again a pricey option for geniune LR parts).

thanks all and keep on rovering.

Norbert,

I'm in the same boat...have you had any luck finding a hitch and wiring option?

Thanks,
Brian

only the 05s came with the option of the towing hitch.

afterwards they took it out.

NO AFTERMARKET WIRING HARNESS. Or else screw up the air suspension. They are specifically designed to work with a trailer and the vehicle will stay in a raised position if you decide to put an aftermarket trailer harness on it. Bite the bullet and buy the LR one. Oh and if you want to carry around the bikes you can get a Thule bike rack for a bit cheaper. same model as the lR one.
