Angry LR3 Ignition problem

Hi
My 2005 LR3 has just developed an ignition problem. I put the key in the ignition and everything comes on as usual but when i turn the key......nothing just a clicking noise behind the glove box

After several attempts she starts but the problem is getting worse i.e. taking longer before it finally turns over

Please Help

Glen

Does the clicking sound like the starter solenoid? I'd start with checking at the battery, possible it could be loose or corroded terminal connections

That would be my guess. Just had to replace my battery a couple weeks ago and it had the same symptoms.

The battery is fine although whilst checking the battery i asked my wife to turn the ignition and there were some weird clicking noises from the relay so when i placed a little pressure on the starter motor relay it started first time.

I then swapped the relay with another of the same type and hey presto it starts first time everytime so i need a new relay (hopefully)
