LR3 Towing Specs - Land Rovers Only

Hi all, I am currently a DII owner but thinking of upgrading / changing to a LR. My question relates to the towing capaisty. The DII says it is rated for 7700 lbs but in reality it is really 5500 lbs (unless you want to go in low gear all the time). Also the hitch is only rated for 500 lbs which is only a class III type and should / could not pull 7700 lbs anyways.

Can someone kindly look in their owners mannual or confirm what the specs are? I would just like to know if this vehical would work as I also want to get a trailer at about 6600 lbs and a hitch weight of aboutn 600 lbs.

Here you go. It's a trooper towing, we tug this beast around, definitely near max with all of our equipment. Does a good job, but if you're planning on towing that heavy a load frequently you might be better off with something more made for that type thing.

I pull a loaded 23-foot enclosed car trailer with our '07 LR3 with no issues. Total towed weight about 7,000 lb. Short wheelbase makes maneuvering much easier than with my '99 F-150 Ford. I do use Sport mode most of the time.
