Got a bug up my arse to take a look at some lightly used LR3s over the past weekend. There seems to be a good bit of 05s and 06s with 25-30K for $30K in my area. That got me into the dealership. When I was there they had two demos with 5K miles that appeared to be deeply discounted.
I wanted to get US owner's thoughts on how good a deal this is. LR3 one: Silver HSE 2007, mileage 4,500. Not sure what is standard or optional (I was looking back in 2005 when a lot of this was optional) but it has 7 seats, adaptive lights, nav, cooler center console, cold weather. Price $36,100 or exactly $20K off of sticker. LR3 two: Red SE 2007, mileage 5,500. Pretty much everything the HSE has but 18" wheels, no adaptive lights and the smaller sound system. Price $34,500, again $20K off of sticker. The Red one also has rear light guards and all weather mats. Though it smells Heavily cleaned where the HSE smells new. I am leaning twords the Red SE as I like the color better and the wheels and lights are not deal breakers to me. Is there anything I should consider? Am I missing something or is this as good of a deal as it seems? Any thoughts would be GREATLY appreciated. -Granger |

go with the HSE, you can always buy light guards and floor mats don't use that as a bargaining chip.
regardless of which one you get. buy an extended warranty. bought 2 rovers in the past year, and an extended warranty on both my disco and the 06 SE was a great decision

I'd hate to buy it if I only keep the truck for 4 years. But if it is a lot cheaper then my decision will be made for me. |

if you plan to do any wheeling you might want to consider the heavy duty package with the rear locker.

Buy the one you like but for the extra 1600.00 the Silver HSE looks to be the better deal. Plus it will have a higher resale/trade in if the need arises.

Hi Granger,
I too am about to pull the trigger on a slightly used LR3 but the similarly equipped low mileage vehicles that I have found in my area (San Francisco Bay Area) are consistently in the $39,999 range. Perhaps par for the course for this area... Where are you looking? Thanks, Dylan |

Well, I pulled the trigger. I ended up going with the Red SE. I was on the fence and while I was deciding someone bought the silver HSE. This worked out for the best as I prefered the looks of the red, but was dragging my heals because of one or two features on the HSE vs SE.
As for the deal, I called around before I bought and could not find a dealer who would get close. The sales pitch was that they had a ton of demos and with two 2007s and a fleet of 2008s they wanted to get rid fo the 07s before the summer. Martin, I agree. I wasn't really in the market for a new truck but at that price I had to reconsider ![]() Dylan, I'm on the other coast. The truck was purchased at Hunt Valley Land Rover in Maryland. Thank you all for the advice, I couldn't be happier. -Bryan |
