I have had my LR3 now for 5 months. In order not to let myself run away with the budget I chose the manual gear box, are they all as bad as mine?
I complained to my dealer after around 3 months. It's since had a new box, clutch and all started off a bit better but now it is as bad agagin. In order to select reverse you almost need 2 hands to get it to go and for 1st gear you really have to lean into the box. Overall, the gearbox just seems really lumpy; its not a smooth ride. Every review I've read has praised the LR3, does anyone know if they are only reviewing automatics? |

Sadly here in the US we don't have manual transmissions available either. I think these days in the US it's down to about 6% of vehicles sold come with a manual tranny...
I'd have to say you have a bum unit as it should operate smoothly...but could you elucidate about the tranny a little? Do you have a hydraulic clutch mechanism? Perhaps if you have to lean on it that much, one of the linkage arms is bent...any trouble going into other gears? Any crunching of gears? I'd say get underneath the vehicle with a flashlight while someone changes gears to see if you can isolate how the linkage moves and if anything looks wonky... Bogatyr
