New '08 LR3 w/tinking noise coming from under truck? - Land Rovers Only

I just bought a new 2008 LR3 HSE last week and I noticed over the last couple days that there's a metal tinking noise coming from underneath the truck. It's the same sound that your heat shield makes when it's expanding or contracting after your car has been driven. The problem with my situation is that it continues to make this noise all the time when I'm driving the truck. It's very annoying...especially since the LR3 is new! Any suggestions on what this noise might be and if it's something to be worried about?

Hopefully this is fixable.

I have the same problem, mine is an 05 LR3 V8 SE...

Can anyone help us?! LOL

Could just be how it is... Since it's brand new, did you take it to the dealer and ask?

Why is it so bothersome? Can you hear it from the interior?

The materials that were used to make the heat shield may have been specifically chosen for their temperature expansion/contraction properties based on the overall heat production of the engine, perhaps to help cool the engine/drive train by absorbing and transferring the heat away from the components... That's if indeed the noise is from the shields...

Just my $0.02..

Its not the heat shield... I hear it as soon as I turn on the car even in the mornings, and the ticking never stops... im ok with it if its not a problem though!
