I have an '06 LR3 with 36,000 miles. Great car when it's running which, fortunately for us, is most of the time. However, our dealer is more than 2 hours away in Birmingham, AL so any trip is an inconvenience. Today we started getting a fault about the suspension height. Yesterday I had new tires put on, could that have triggered the fault?
The warranty expires in three weeks and I'll call the dealer first thing Monday but wanted to check with ya'll just to know what to look out for.
It's possible it could have triggered it. Hopefully the tire shop didn't lift it from the compressor, been known to happen before Or maybe if they didn't lift it properly (off-road height, door open...) it caused it to complain
Amber or red? If it's not having other symptoms and it's amber, I'd probably disconnect the battery (wait until it's 'asleep' first) and see if it goes away after reconnect. I had a suspension fault come up once, and that did the trick, never came back again. Maybe try to cycle through the height modes and see what it does, take off the compressor cover and have a look at that, and airbags, sensors, etc. for damage/loose connections.

crazy... I was just logging on to ask this same question! On my way home today it started throwing the same suspension height fault in amber... saying that only normal height was available. After I shut it off and then restarted it cleared... but then it threw the fault again after a few minutes. I did just have new tires installed about a week ago (cooper zeon ltz in 285/60/18) but they didn't jack it from the compressor... I made sure of that at time of install. I took a weekend camping trip after the install with no problems at all... then it randomly threw the fault today. weird. I am already going to dealer next week for a radio replacement and my sunroof arms are all cracked... fun!
Many thanks for the suggestions. Disconnecting the battery worked. Running fine now. Saved me a two-hour trip to the dealership. I frothy Guinness is being raised in your honor.

What is the correct way to lift a LR3? Is it ok to use a frame lift taking all four off the ground?

You can use a frame lift, as long as it keeps on the chassis legs and not lifted from any suspension components (including the wishbones). The truck should be raised to off-road height and have a door left open to keep the suspension from moving.

1st time poster, good morning,..I have a 2006 LR3 and once a week I get an HDC fault light on..turns off when I turn the car off, but when its on, it lowers the suspension and says special programs are unavailable. Took it in to the dealership when it was under warranty and they replaced the right suspension arm or something..when that happened the lighst were red and the suspension was as low as could be and was bouncing all over the road..since then, just the orange-ish lights that turn off after restarting the car..any ideas?
I made the mistake of lifting it on the compressor housing. it was dark, I was frustrated and it was the first flat in the truck. I heard a "CrAcK" and knew something was up. I haven't got any suspension faults but my compressor sure is LOUD now. A constant reminder of my hasty decision.

Sounds like you may have just cracked the plastic cover (thank goodness). My cover was taken off to fit sliders and it's pretty loud without.

you may have broken the mounting brackets as well. i BELIVE THE HIGH COUNTRY MOUNTS ARE CHEAPER THAN THE ONES FROM THE DEALER AND IT HELPS TUCK THE COMPRESSOR UP A BIT. sorry for the caps my bad.
