Default Non-winch bumper / Winch bumper options?

Hey folks...

Coming from the FJ Cruiser world, there are a plethora of options for the FJ and some winched and non-winched bumpers. I have seen some photos of various grill protection. What & where are some options to consider? Vendors, please chime in as well. I am exploring my options.

Also...what kind of additional weight is associated with these? On the FJ side, a couple of options were rather beefy and added a significant amount of weight to the nose of the rig.

What say you?

rovertym and saffari guard make a nice beefy bumpers w/ winch in my oppion they both make the best I like sg looks a tad better
ARB has one as well but not as stout
Rasta makes one that is hidden in your current bumper
LR has a set up that is external setup and stupid expensive it also will decrease your approach angle.
I would rate as follows
sg
rovertym
arb
rasta
LR factory

DRZ,

I am curious about the lower ranking that you give for the Rasta winch. I thought the hidden aspect was pretty cool, any drawbacks with the product that you know of? Or are the others just better, more durable winches?

Bigs,

I'll be watching this thread as I am in a similar situation. Here are some old pics of my former truck.

the winch on the rasta is hidden very well so it would be a pain when re-spooling.
I would think it would be hard to get your hand in there to free wheel the winch ect.
but I have not had the chance to check one out in person. It is about the cheapest and cleanest way to go.

you two should check out some of the pics of Sideview's LR3 on here she has a RTE bumper that is very stout and she has been exceptionally happy with it.

Nice Granger. I like the ARB front bumper. I loved the capability of the FJ. Now if it came in 4-doors, I might be rethinking my direction on the LR3.

Thanks for the input on the bumpers, all. I appreciate it.

It dose look nice. Remember the arb is not strong enough to mount recovery points on it.

Best Step up I've seen

Not my ride. This fabulous ride belongs to Sideview (look her up) and features the Rovertym front bumper.

I have a hidden mount on mine. I got it in england on my last trip over there, very good price. I would assume the Rasta is similar to mine. I dont have any spooling issues but Im also running viking synthetic line. So my vote is for the hidden mount. I like the clean factory look.

Heres a photo

and here a post with some more photos.

anybody live in florida?
