Question Quality rotors/brakes???

I like many other LR3 owners feel the pain of brake part replacement every 25-30k including pads AND rotors. I am currently at 28k and need to replace them. I am interested in installing performance parts and not the OEM "throw away" replacements. I looked into the cryo rotors and they seem to have a fairly decent following, though not without spending some serious bucks!

Frozen rotors wants $1023 for front/rear cryogenic slotted rotors and raybestas carbon-metallic pads.

Here is my dilemma. They claim that the cryo process increases life by 2x. However, they are twice the price as OEM parts.... Hmmm that means that I am really not even gaining a long term price savings as if I use the performance parts, it will just save me from installing brakes twice within the next 60k.

Has anyone else used the Frozen Rotors brand or Applied Rotor Technology brand and is it worth it? Does it have better braking power that is noticeable?

Sorry I do not have any direct experience with the two brands you are refering too and little experience with the LR3 ( I have only had mine for 3 weeks ) but I dont think you will notice any REAL improvement with just rotors and pads. To get a noticable improvement you would need calipers as well. The brembo kits come complete for like $5k!!!

I will probably just be doing the $500 OEM replacement parts and do the job myself, but let us know what you find out.
