you can go as long as 8 psi depending on the tires, but 15 sounds good on stock tires.

Many thanks, took it off road today, psi 13, through deep soft sand for about 3 hours, the car had absolutely no problems and tackled a variety of obstacles...

Do you need a special permit to take the truck on the beach there?

Default Nantucket is my home

Last I knew u need an oversand vehicle permit until the 15th of October after that the beaches can be accesed without a permit. I can call my brother to confirm.

BTW dborthwick: Where on the Island were u driving? I was just out there a few weeks ago. The Island is loaded with Rovers.

nantucket is so jam packed with defenders. I love it. I believe oceanswithin is correct about the permits. During the summer I know you need one. Same on Cape Cod only I think you need one all year round.

The new LR3 performs rather well in sand, the local Landy agent here in UAE lent me one of their demos last June while my Disco was in getting a service and naturally took it into the dunes of UAE.

My main gripe is that damn air suspension as the vehicle drops down when going faster than 45 kph (or thereabouts) while I would want to keep the clearance especially driving on sand tracks.

Personally I still do not like the rear end, and the spare wheel should be more accessable .

An amazing vehicle to drive though, the interior is fantastic.

Only the top of the range model with the 4.4L is being imported to UAE and selling price a cool $57K

I only deflated to 15 psi after driving tracks, there is enough power in that engine to cope with the sand.
