Default steering issues 06 lr3

My steering wheel seemed to “loose” and had little control when in deep sand
( wheels were going straight while steering wheel was upside down)

My setup at the time
-sand program (tried mud)
- Low range
- Off road height

Occasionally I got a graphic on my instrument panel (I do not have NAV) which shows my wheels and axle

Sounds like you were moving too fast. If you wouldn't have turned your wheels, you would have probably gotten stuck. That's a normal reaction in sand or mud. Its a good thing too unless you REALLY need to turn in which case you can use both feet, one to brake a bit and one to keep the engine accelerated while in gear.

I am still running stock tires . I never lost control it just seemed that the steering ratio may have changed . i put my head out the window and my tires were straight a head ,however my steering wheel was upside down.

Thats crazy man. Obviously everything went back to normal when you got out of the mud/sand right?

yep! all went back to normal, I am also thinking it may have somthing to do with anti-roll mitigation ( if there is cetian amount of resistance to the tires and the direction of steering in an effort prevent over corection ) Does that make any sence?

naa man my dad thinks it will cost a grand a month to keep the thing running which isn't true. So i'm just not going to wheel the LR3 too much anymore and hopefully buy some skidplates later on this summer when i get a couple of paychecks from work.
