Default Uh... rear wiper controls?

How do you turn this thing off? Seriously. We've got a loaner LR3 whilst the 2004 is in the shop and no manual came with it.

push the wiper control switch (right side) forward (toward the dash).

they really should leave the manuals in loaner cars. i've got a mitusbishi loaner (i always get crap loaners) from LR Parsippany (the '3 is in for the fuel tank swap) and i'm sure i spent at least 5 minutes in the parking lot search for the mirror remote and making sure i know how to operate the lights and wipers.

Default Thanks!

Found it just before you replied - no wonder the missus had the wiper on for three days.

I recognize your name from DVXuser.com. Same one? If so. Great to know you're a fellow enthusiast!

Honestly, that is about 75% of the reason that I will not buy another Land Rover from them. They've made it an inconvience for me to bring my truck in for warranty work by their loaner policy (I don't know if its the same for you, but they make me pay for the cars when they loan me the minivans!)... which now results on me feeling ripped off by purchasing an extended warranty.

Hey Ryan, it's exactly the same for me, they only pay for the loaner if I'm in for scheduled maintenance, although they have given in a couple of times including this last one (only b/c the tanks were back ordered when I orignally called). And we bought both trucks from them.

If you don't mind me asking, what the other 25%?

My sales guy.. he doesn't remember my name whenever I see him, gives me the cold shoulder when I approach him.. I just don't feel welcome at all there, which is a shame being that I live like 3 miles from there.

I've seen a lot of stories where the sales guy ruins the customer relationship for himself and/or the dealership when it wouldn't have taken much effort on their part to maintain it. You have to wonder.

Speaking of the Stealerships and getting a loaner.

I took my D90 to the stealership a while back and after confirming i would have a loaner three times that week the girl working there told me my service record was not long enough to be qualified for a loaner vehcle. I didn't understand that so she explained it to me in these words "you basically haven't spent enough money here to get a loaner"...I said OK i need to see your manager. I told him what she told me and then let him know that before he was the centre manager I purchased a D90 for 40,000 bucks from them. I said if thats not enough money then you all can kiss my ass and you will never see another dime from me.....He then basically got on his knees if you know what i mean. Needless to say after raising some hell and showing my ass the girl got bithced out and i got my loaner....

LR Parsippany's loaner policy doesn't make any sense. They _say_ that you only get a loaner if you are in for scheduled maintenance.

Now I just had the Freelander in for a CEL and they offered me a loaner without batting an eye. Usually they want you to confirm it when you make the appointment which I didn't b/c I assumed they didn't want to give me one.

Last month I brought the LR3 in for the tank recall - they weren't going to give me a loaner. I dropped off a $40K vehicle that I bought from them (the 2nd vehicle I've bought from them) for a RECALL and they don't want to give me a cheap a** POS XL7 or whatever other cr@p they have sitting around. They 'found' a reason without to much arguement, said they would give me one since I had to wait for the tank to come in.

Go figure.

Come to think of it, when we took the LR3 in for the Tank Recall they didn't want to give us a loaner for that either.....

loaner policies vary from place to place and if you bought from them or not.

also it depends on how many they have at the time.

Those recalls dont take very long. less then half a day so usually they dont like to give them out.

and remember most dealers dont have fleets of rovers at your disposal. Most go thru hertz and use their resources. it works out quite well. we get more rentals to have access to.

they could have had a problem. thats why.

and had to wait on a part.

Its like doing a regular warrantee job and breaking something and waiting for parts. No big whup. As long as its done.
