Was it made in Germany when BMW owned them?

Don't think BMW was even in the picture for LR3's inception.
It's a true import. Not partly fabbed somewhere else and assembled in US What Toyota..Nahhh!

Production of the Freelander2 (aka LR2) was moved to the Jaguar car factory at Halewood near Liverpool... There were talks about moving all production there if Solihull wouldn't shape up with quality control, but nothing new in a few years on that... The Discovery3/LR3, Range Rover, RRSport, and Defender are currently still in Solihull.

In some markets, like Malaysia, Land Rovers are imported as CKD (complete knock down) kits and assembled locally.

In Malaysia's case, Land Rovers come out of the Volvo assembly line in Malaysia (strange but true!)

I was taken to the factory about a month ago, factory tour in the morning,LR experience driving in the afternoon.VERY interesting day - both bits, amazing where an LR3 will go on road tyres. The Defender production line was like a trip back in time, esp as its parallel to the full size Range Rover line in the factory.

I was being sarcastic, dipstick. Read the whole thread.
Sheesh, some people just take themselves way to seriously.
