hi everyone this is my first post have just brought some 22" stormer style rims for my p38 ive had them ballenced and fitted and there is a shake around 50mph they look in good condition and balanced ok on the balencer machine ive spoke to the person i brought them of and he has assured me they were fine on his 2007 rr vogue and has offerd to re fit them to his and take me out to prove it so i dont think they are faulty to be honest so what else could it be ive also noticed my steering wheel doesnt sit quite straight since these were fitted could this cause the problem maybe having it 4 wheel alligned would sort it i was going to refit the standard rims tomoz to try and determine whether it is the wheels or just a cdoinsidence and maybe another problem completely any advice help would be much appriciated thanks

IIRC correctly aren't the rims on the P38 and MKIII Range Rovers hub centric. If so I recall that the MKIII rims have a larger bore on the center which could cause a wobble.

if your EAS fails with 22 inch rims the truck won't be driveable, even to the shop. I suggest you get a coil spring conversion (if you haven't already) to eliminate that possibility.

i think the central hub is slighty bigger about 1mm but i spoke to my wheel provider who i have brought several wheels from in the past (not these ones though)and he said that it wont be an issue i also brought the new correct fitting wheelnuts im gonna try and refit the standard wheels to the front today just to confirm that it is the wheels and not just a coincidence i know that if the eas fails it can be a issue but will it actually cause anything to break ?

I guess if the full body weight of the truck collapses on the wheels while at speed it could cause quite a bit of damage cosmetically speaking. Also it could be possible to result in a loss of control of the vehicle leading to very bad things.

yes but that could happen on any set of wheels, unless you are running on some like 14" donut rims with low pros on them.

Actually the stock wheel height will clear the body when it's dumped on it's bump stops

also reading an earlier comment if the eas fails does it litterally go in a few second or do you get some kind of warning ?

Usually it will leak down overnight and if your lucky it will pump up when you start it. If you get an EAS fault while driving, the EAS will shut off and you only have the air that is in your springs left. So basically if there is a small leak, it will not re-fill itself to keep you off the bump stops.
