Those tires are a little on the skinny side for a d2. the 265/75 (pretty much the same diameter) look better in my opinion.

I was looking for a skinnier tire what about height wise are the 235/85/16 much shorter than the 255/85/16 and what size lift would be needed for the 255's

235s will fit on a DII 2" lift just fine, IF you like that skinny look. I run 285s.

What sort of wheeling do you do? 235's, cause they are narrower work well in snow.

235/85 are 32"
255/85 are 33"

to answer your question.

Math equation to use.
(235 x .85 x 2 / 25.4) + 16 = 31.72 inches

fill in the tread width 235
fill in the aspect ratio (a percentage) so a decimal goes before the number
2 is the number of sidewalls between the ground and the top of the tire
25.4 is the conversion from mm to inches
16 is the wheel diameter

I think 235 is the last size that is within the realm of 'normal'

When you go above you have to drive differently.

I've had just about every size on the board and I remember the 235 rig being nice to drive.

I don't mind driving differently, so I'm up to 35x12.5 now.

Not to mention you can't put 35"'s on a DII without serious modification, and dumping a lot of money into the drivetrain. lol.

New to wheeling but I want to get into it and I love the land rover brand, but I live in NC so the terrain can vary a bit.

Here you go Pete! 25 inches of tire width coming at you!

a little view of the future for you... of course you'll have to take into account the RR1 is a much prettier car! hahahaha!

I got to do a little wheeling this year, I'm happy with the larger tires and with the flares they are legaly covered.

If my dental practice was not such a demanding beeyach this year I'd have a full report.
