What a waste of a Rover, a 49" tyred mall crawler. It obviously can't go off road with that one inch of rear articulation before the tyres hit the body. They'd probably rub badly just going over a curb.

I saw you get bashed on pirate4x4.. Why put on 49s if you cannot even wheel it? Take some vids of you actually getting some articulation and conquering some mean terrain.. Besides some crushed cars..

Goodluck

P.S. This is what a real disco looks like in epsom green. (sorry about the driveway pick)

Rik;

Do what you want to do. Don't pay any attention to those that just down you. You led the way and did the tech on fitting portal axles onto DII's. That alone is great for people in the future who want to try it. Personally I think the 49's are too big. Much preferred it with the 40's on. But it's your truck, and it's your money. So do with it what you want to.

Have you ever used any SR stuff? I doubt it. I have and whether its is copied or not it is some good equipment. SR bumper is probably the best bumper made for a RRC or D1. No silly bull bar bullshit, built in jack points, extra bolts (4 in total) holding the bumper to the chassis, the best approach angle, 6mm (1/4 inch steel vs 3/16 for the ARB) and their swivel recovery points slide right in. The swivel points are one of the strongest recovery point as well. Ive also used thier 2" drop shock mounts with no complaints. I personally could care less if they copied Equipes designs as Ive got no dog in that hunt. In fact I dont think Equip makes a blade bumper like the SR one. Maybe Im wrong, but they sell some nice equipment either way. Gordo.

Ive seen the video before from Pirate as well and while it isnt my style, who else on this board is running mog axles????? You need huge tires with them as the gear ratios are so low, maybe not 49s but big none the less. My buddy (see avitar) has 40 Boggers with mog axles and he cant go much over 45-50.

i like the scopian suspention setup , my front tyres will fully articulate and ive made flares now that fit like the icelandic ones , the rear of the truck has also now been modified to get full articulation although i havent tested the rear yet but i will . this truck has been tested offroad and it works ok also i have done a few thousand road miles at moterway speeds 70mph ok and had it at 80 on private roads gps speed not some dodgy speedo . also off road i dont get stuck . i will be off roading a buldwas telford the next time it on i think this is in about 2 weeks on sunday for anyone who want to watch.also everone gets bashed on pirate unless you have a buggy with 49's atlas or stack tran box plus other mods sometimes people get bashed just for having a lr

If the SR stuff is so good, just think how good the real stuff must be. Their swivel points are based off Equipe 4x4. I have the Equipe swivels.. I don't care for a blade bumper.. If I did I would have went with Rovertym.. I just don't like the idea of buying from some company who copied some other company just to make profit because they knew how well the real stuff was..

This is the bumper I have in the pic above.

It is not a sports car. But that is impressive..

Everyone gets stuck...... I Hate hearing that statement.. All it says is, "I really don't off-road, I just go on some dirt road and look for mud puddles."

Gordo

P.S. I didn't mean to get you pissed off about Scorpion Racing.. I just looked at SR site once again.. And it is a complete knock-off of Equipe.. The quality does not look Nearly as good.

Maybe SR is not "shit" like I stated earlier. Forgive me for that ignorant comment.. Hmm, Maybe Justin from Lucky8 could shed some light on the Equipe vs Scorpion Racing. He knows all about Equipe, so I am sure he has had experiance with Scorpion Racing as well.

Rik You may just want to go down to smaller tires. That way you will not break nearly as many things and I am sure your Disco will be 10x better off road as long as you use driver skill and make good judgment when trying to overcome obstacles.

First things first every be forewarned I do have a dog in this race. And he is spotted.

sr asked Equipe if the could be a UK vendor for them. The boys down at Equipe agreed and sent out some product. sr sold the parts and when they had them in the shop they decided to make copies. I cant say I blame them for copying the Equipe parts but what they did next was very low. They sold the Equipe copies as originals. When the parts failed sr told the customers to send them back to Equipe. Now Equipe had to tell sr customers that they bought fakes.

Si from Xeng is a hard working middle class guy with some good ideas. He invented the xbreak. So what does our good friends do from sr they steel the idea and sell it as there own. Last we spoke about this he was fighting them in cort.

Staun sent me and email waring me that sr was selling knock off tire deflators as real Staun deflators.

Roccia plastics sold a big batch of fender flares to sr and never got paid forcing them to go out of business. Roccia did not fill my orders and still owes me money.

Taking a good idea and making it better is the way of the world, with out that we would still be using horse and buggys. Hell Land Rover modeled there first truck after the jeep. What sr does is like me selling chinese copies of Rovertym bumpers, and when they break telling you to call steve. That is why I dont support them.

If I am misinformed I apologies.

Hey Jupiter, no offense taken man. I understand your point about the blade, many folks dont like them but to me a bull bar style bumper is in the way when I work on my truck, especially when Im in the woods, Im vertically challenged though. The only real advantage I see to them is protection for the headlights and the rad if you are unfortunate enough to roll. I personally dont care for the DOM style bumpers myself but its a taste thing, not a functional thing.
Ive worked with 1/4 DOM tubing so I can imagine the 4mm stuff is pretty strong, that being said the 6mm box of the SR blade bumper is VERY strong. I was very impressed with the fit and finish of my 500 dollar SR bumper. (Ok I think they are 600 now though). Still pretty cheap for a top of the line bumper. Too me it is the best looking bumper on a RRC or D1 and the nice thing is it will fit both trucks! I like the RTE bumpers as well, very high quality in both units. I dont think they copied Equipe on the blade bumper I had which was square, if that matters. I also bought mine from AG 4x4, good guys.
You need to make it up to the Fall Rally and get that truck dirty man.

I am definitely going to be there. Want to wheel together? I don't know anyone who is going to be there except Daniel (xtrememarine)...

Sorry again for talking bad about your bumper. Post some pics of your bumper on your D1 or RRC, I want to see it.
