Default BFG Long Trail TA

ok before you jump all over me these are for the wifes mini van.

It's a 2000 Mercedes ML320 I'm looking for a good all around tire that sort of looks like a truck tire. (She likes it to look rough and tough but won't take it down a dirt road) Basically something that wears ok 40-50k range looks agressive and isn't to loud on tire hum.

Any thoughts I've never ran BFG truck tires before. I ran some comp ta's on my old mustang but they were not my favorite tires by any stretch.

I was going to get her some continentals all season radials but she didn't like the car tire idea.

The long trails seem to fit the bill but I wanted some opinions

Dunlop Grandtrek AT20s...they come stock on Tacomas and i think are better suited for heavier trucks like the MLs and Rovers (i had a set at one point)

That's what is on there now and I have been disappointed with them they seem to hydroplane very easily and wear quickly this set has just under 30k and are ready for replacement in the next 5-10k

Now I'm liking the Dunlop Mud Rovers for my next set of RRC Tires

$129 a tire in 235/85's that brings a smile to my face

I guy at work has those Mud Rovers on his Chevy Pick up and says that they okay, but sometimes when they sit in one place (meaning more then one night at a time) they get flat spots. I love the look of them on his truck though.

I just put a set of 255/60/18 Generals on my 04 d2. They ride nice and, as a bonus, are quiet too.

I have the BFG Long Trail load range "E" on my Dodge Diesel and they are ok. I have 32000 miles on them and they still have lots of tread. They work well on ice and in the snow. They are also quiet. When they wear out I will replace them with Toyo Open County AT's. Hope this helps.

I also had the BFG long trail on my 06 Dodge diesel 4x4 mega cab come stock from the factory, and I don't like them at all. At 60,000KM the rears are almost worn out and they suck in the snow.
Having said that I do tow with it ALOT and that diesel is so heavy and makes so much torque that the rear tires don't have a snowballs hope in hell at gripping in the snow and ice.
Ive had the BFG all Terrrains before and they have performed well (on a 1999 Dodge durango).
The yokohamma geolanders are a good AT tire, I have a set on my RRC at moment.
As always, you just can't go wrong with a michelin tire for all around quality and on road performance.
Thats my 2c.
