I have a 97 D1 (no mods or lift) and would like to see some pics of other D1's with this tire size on it without mods or lift. Also, how does everyone feel about the Dunlop Radial Rover AT's? They seem like a good deal at $114.00 per at tirerack.com. Plus, $50.00 back when you buy 4 tires. (102.00 seems like a steal) .

Get yourself a fifth one for the spare also. Depending on what/how much wheeling you do you might want to think about getting the Dunlop mud terrains. Great looking and in the snow the mud terrains work great too. I have the 245's on my 97 with no lift and I love them. You will have to trim the rear fender so the tires won't rub though. Sorry all I have are action pics right now.

You'll definately need to trim your rear fenders. I'm still on stock suspension.

My D1 has been without front or rear sways for better than a year with no problems. It is soooo much better off road without em. Haven't had any issues with brake lines or anything and it flexes pretty good. It's always great(being sarcastic) when you hear the springs going boing, boing. That's it....time for a lift! |

Thank you for your help and advise. I purchased Dunlop Rover A/T's today in the 245/70 16's. When I grow up (someday) I will put a 2 inch lift, remove the sway bars, extend the ABS lines, and swap out these tires for BFG's 285/75 16's.
Until then, these give a little better look to the D1 and I have slightly better ride quality. I will post pics when I get them. (if anyone is interested.) Everyone was helpful. Thanks again. |

The 245/75 is a bit taller, 5% actually. Both are the same 245mm wide. The 70 or 75 is just a percent from the width to tell you the height, ie: the 70 is 70% of the 245mm width, a 235/85 would be a taller tire being 85% of the 235 width. A 245/75 is about the biggest tire you can fit under a stock suspended D1. |

I've got a set of 31.10.50R15's Think they are equiverlent to a 265/65. They fitted fine on my Discovery. I did have to take the front bumper corners off as it rubed on them, but it seemed fine at the back, although I do have a 3 door.
Not an issue know as I have 'slightly' altered the wheel arches ![]()
