I have run Mud Rovers on several trucks, XJ Cherokee, and two Discos and they are noisy and bumpy but well worth it offroad. also, they are inexpensive so if you cut a sidewall, you haven't lost $250.

I run the generic version of them - Remington Mud Brutes...same tire, just different name. They are AWESOME! I have about 30,000 miles on them - both on and off road. They still have a TON of tread left on them....and I'm not easy on my truck when I offroad.

Agreed, the guys I know that run them also have tons of road miles on them and they also have tons of tread left on them. They also have mostly city/highway mileage! |

I don't know what a 'Mud Rover' is, but I have Dunlop Radial Rover MTs on my 110. They probably have 30K on them and I swear they haven't worn a bit yet.
They are a very aggressive tread much the same as a BFG MT, are not noisy (but if they were, I'm not sure how noisy they would have to be to overcome the regular noises in a 110) are excellent in snow and mud. They have slipped on me on wet roads, but that may have been when I was having a problem with the proportioning valve to the rear brakes. I initially chose them based on the quality reports on Tirerack.com, but probably would have anyway, on price alone, 1/2 what #1 son paid for his BFGs |

I've been pretty happy with my Mud Rovers. I got them a year ago and they seem to be wearing quite well. They don't seem to be too noisey either, although D90's aren't known for thier quiet ride anyways, so in a Disco or Rangie they may be more noticable.

Griff...I think you can get the Dunlops or Remmingtons for less than $100 each on Tire Rack. If not, I think I can get them for you for about $110 each delivered. Would have to check on that.

Griff,
No lift on the 90 as of yet. I'd like to get some lift eventually (1.5") and get some 33x12.5 R15 SSR's, but for now I'm running stock with just a bit of rub on the frame at full steering lock. Off-road I've been very careful not to turn too tight or I'd definately goober up to fender flares if the suspension was compressed fully. Fortunately, this is my daily driver (I have the YJ for off roading) so it really doesn't see much trail action. ![]()

Hi DiscoPilot,
I know, I know... it does'nt seem to make much sense, but let me explain. I've had the YJ for about 6 years now and built it up myself and did quite a bit of off-roading. Over time I got a daily driver to save my pride and joy from rusting and also to get something more daily driver friendly (the XJ), then I got a Series IIa to play around with and got hooked on the rover thing. That's when I sold my XJ and the Series IIa to get a D90. The point is, that I wanted to drive the IIa everyday, but was held back by long distance freeway driving, the D90 does a much better job now. If I had started with the D90 originally, I would've built that up and also driven it everyday and probably never have gotten the other vehicles. Unfortunately, when I got the YJ I figured I'd never be able to get my dream vehicle (D90), but through years of hard work and one big car loan, I now have it. ![]()

as a cheap bastard I run duny's mud rovers
and I have few issues (the only tire you can put 3 tire plugs in the side wall and drive it home from a HARD day wheelin I do find the side walls a bit thin and load cap is not good at low air press but other than that they are great ![]() |
