Default Good News from American Racing

I contacted American Racing a week ago about seeing if wheels could be custom made for the Disco II bolt pattern. I recieved a phone number to call to talk to their custom shop. When I called them today, a guy named Adam told me that they do custom orders (for about $500-600 per wheel, that's including the wheel). He then added that American Racing is going to start producing wheels for Discoveries within the next six months. They are not doing this for all wheel models. I personally like the Mojave line which they will be producing for Disco II's. If you want to contact them to see if they will be producing a wheel that you like, or reinforce with them that there is a demand out there for Discovery wheels, contact Adam at 888-623-4199.

No more S-10 or Camero steelies!

By the way, they suggest going with 15x8 wheels.

Would 15's work on a D2? I thought 16's were the smallest you could go?

15s will work i'm pretty sure.. I've seen people with them on it.. If American racing can come up with a 15x8 w/ 5x120mm [not 4.75"] hubcentric rim for a reasonable price, thatd be nice.

They are working on the calculations, who knows, they may have to go to 16's, but it sounded like they have custom made 15's before.

Not to speak about unthinkable things but the new J**P JK series has reintroduced the 5 on 6.5 bolt pattern. So hopefully the steel wheels that the aftermarket companies are going to produce will fit the older RRC, D90's, and Disco's.

I don't get that part???

Just an FYI, our trucks require stronger rims, not the cheap Jeep rims. Jeeps are much lighter....
and yes, you can put a 15" rim on a DII, there are a bunch of companies in the UK that carry them and much cheaper than 500-600 per wheel, including the wheel.... whatever that means
