Default Good Year MTR ~vs~ BFG Mud Terrain KM2

For a Range Rover Classic, Size 235/85/R16.

I have had MTR's in 35/12.5/R15 before and thought they were great...and that was on a similar sized vehicle, a full size Jeep Wagoneer.

They are within $4 a tire of each other so cost is not an issue.

Your thoughts...

Goodyear is just releasing a new version of the MTR. I just had training on them yesterday. Look to be very much improved.

I didn't know they came out with a new one.. That is one nice tire.

It may even give the KM2 a run..

They are tyres built for two different situations. So it depends on what driving you plan to do. MTRs are not mud tyres, they are more of a all terrain and a lot better on the road.

KM2s are more for rock. They just happen to do good in mud.

I think the BGF's are the way to go...or the mudkings...they're made in the same factory and go through the same tests...I prefer the BFG/Michellin products to the Goodyear products, I've not had good luck with Goodyear tires and I do some work for both companies and the Michellin Plants are alot nicer and have alot better testing facilities for their tires....The BFG's also seem to be a bit more road friendly in my experiences

Ever see a Mudking explode at 150mph?? I'm just glad its in a test stand and not on a truck...it would obliterate a vehicle...haha

KM2's are king of the hill right now. The New MT/R with Kevlar is gaining some popularity though. Their unique tread design is very intriguring.

New Goodyear MTR with Kevlar!

I have run MT/R's on every rig I have ever wheeled, except my Crawler, which runs the original competition compound BFG Krawlers...LOVE those on the rocks, even if they suck on the street...have not had any experience with any other BFG, but I know I will always love the MT/R
