Default Goodyear Silent Armour

In trying to fit my Rangie Sport with decent tires, the very few choices include the Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armour in 265/60/r18. Has anyone here uesed these tires? They look good, and visually compare well to the BFG A/T's (except the BFG's have multi ply sidewalls). They seem a bit more ruggedly constructed than the Nitto TG's.

Feffrey,
I didn't realize you were running 18's still. Can't help you on the tires you have picked since I have never used them.
Have you looked at the Bridgestone Duller line. Tje top of the line haca a nice tread and it is a direction rated tire, handles real well.
Have you heard anything obout our up comig day trip?
Mike

255 55 r19 goodyear Wrangler MTR are available in the UK. Problem is I dont know if they are USA DOT rated.

They may not be. If you get them shipped over you need an no record of the install whatsoever.

Beezel, I know all about those 19" MT/R's. I don't want to run 19" wheels. As I said on another forum...

The problem I face is the rim-to-ground distance. On 19" wheels, for my use, it is too short and unacceptable. I ride over a lot of rocks, both loose and embedded in the ground and sticking up usually 4-5". With only 3-4" of rim-to-ground, those rocks have been shredding my tires against the wheels. I have already had to replace 2 gashed Conti's, and my rims look like shit. For most europeans and those in eastern USA, the trails are mostly rutted dirt, mud, and river crossings thru forests. That's why you hear that they offroad just fine with the stock rigs. Put those guys in Death Valley and see what happens then.....GRANITE !!!
