I have non-original rims on my defender (silver modulars) and they are ace! a slightly bigger offset than standard defender rims so my turning circle and overall stance is improved! See here |

I'm not into putting 24" rims or these insane 26" rims on trucks like ours. It is friggin stupid in my opinion. Unless the vehicle is slammed to the floor and will never see the trails, huge rims like that don't belong on Rovers. Plus I prefer to go up in the air and admire the view on bigger tires and some bead lock wheels!

Dude...just buy the spare rim here and there. Pretty soon you will have a full set. Powder coat them whatever color you want. There you have it! Steelies any color you want!

i put on the black 15x8 ProComps from Trek about a month ago. so far they seem to be doing all right. they took a few hard hits to the side at Hollister this weekend. no complaints. although word has it on the forums that OEM steel wheels are much better suited for our trucks.
just curious X. how many of those spares are you up to?

There's no real reason why OEM steel wheels would be better suited to a Rover than any of the aftermarket rims. I know many folks who have those black steelies from Gulf Coast -- I think they are American Racing? The ProComps that Safari Gard & Trek sell are solid wheels. The only problem w/ painting or powder coating the stock alloys is that, while they look good, they will get trashed off-road on any serious trail & you'll be repainting them every weekend.

I have quite a few stock steel wheels & stock alloys (3 spoke & castor). If anyone needs any of these just let me know.
