Default New Rover guy needs help on Marinello wheels

I am looking to ugrade my wheels. Has anyone purchased the Marinello wheels? I saw them in the Land Rover Lifestyle magazine. I called the Marinello phone number and Rick said they are made exclusively for Rovers only. I can buy them from my local Rover dealer or directly from them.

I like all four styles but I think I like the rugged look of the 20 Y spoke style best. Has anyone seen them in person? I was wondering if you like them. I can't decide if I like the Black chrome or the Brushed finish better. Any opinions? Just thought I would research them before buying.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

A link? Some pics? Haven't even heard of them, and I used to manage wheel and tire shops. Dude, do I feel out of the loop. Old, so old...

I think a local guy has the black split 5 spoke ones on a 2003/2004 Range Rover or at least something that looks very similar. If that's what he's got they look good, they catch me looking everytime I see them at the car wash anyways. Black is not for everyone so it may depend on your ride....pictures of the rover?

I really like the function of those wheels! They'll cut right through the mud and look for the most part to be self cleaning when you come back up to speed. Smooth even surfaces like that should sling the mud and slime right off. Man, that's gonna be a tough choice!

Now I know what the old Series guys meant when the say Land-Rover has strayed too far, and Land-Rover is dead.

I guess I'm just getting old, but Land-Rover has strayed too far from it's core values and has become a flavor of the month brand.

I know everyone argues the new Land Rovers are so capable for a stock vehicle. Just try to modify one to a decent level, i.e. 33" tires and see how far you get.

Woe is me!

Sad is the way Rover has come if anyonr mounts any of those wheels to one of it's products! No wonder they sold to an Indian company. Pathetic.

I'd definitely roll those on my rover

Lets face it, the Range Rover Sport/Range Rover HSE is not marketed to the off road crowd...and for what its worth, neither was the Classic in North America in its day. It's only been second and third hand owners who fully tap what a Classic or Disco has to offer off road. In the UK/Europe different story...Land Rovers there are much more utilitarian...less fluff...at least up until the late 80's...and that's where their off-road prowess was made legend.

I mean really, if you went out and dropped $80k on a Range Rover HSE you're not really gonna go out and wheel it thru the sticks, picking up pinstripes and rock dings. Now, go buy a used 2003/04 RR for $25k...you might not be so worried about it. Given a little time I bet you will see the after-market begin to make more trail worthy items for them...especially if enthusiasts start to use them to their full potential. Yes, they have an over abundance of electric gizmos...but compared to other domestic vehicles, so did the Classic RR when it hit the US
