Most, if not all DI, RRC wheels were 16x7. DII / P38 whelels were 16x8. For a 265, it would be recommended to run on a 8", but a 7" will be fine. With a 285 tire, I would go no narrower than an 8" rim, even if you need to buy steelies to get the width. Nato rims fit DI/D90/RRC are 6.5" , and I've seen plenty of people mount 265's on them, but I don't recommend it. In the tire business the general rule of thumb was that the tire's tread width should be no greater than 3" wider than the rim for street driving. And the tire's max width should be no greater than 3" wider than the rim for off-road driving (because of airing down). Those rules of thumb may have changed since I got out of managing tire stores; but that was how it worked when these vehicles were new, so I still follow them myself.
