Default Offroad tire wheel combo for Disco 03

I'm sure this has been brought up many times before but hey why not one more time. I am searching high and low to find a spare set of wheels for my 2003 Disco II. I currently am running the 18" with 255/55/18 tires and want to replace them when off-roading with some 16x7. First off will the 16" wheels fit on the 2003 SE model. I have heard that the brakes are too big, is this true? If not what options do I have and where is the best place to find some. Sorry for all the questions I just can't seem to get a straight answer from anybody.

Regards

the 16" rims will work with your 03 DII. rover 5x120 16" alloys are 16x8 not 16x7. dont get the DI rims because they have a different bolt pattern. if this is going to be a spare set, have you considered getting steel wheels?

you can also get some at:

http://www.trekoutfitters.com/extra/...r/st_wheel.htm

http://store.procomp.com.au/categories.asp?cat=53

...ive heard of the procomp wheels (3rd link) being almost as cheap as $50/wheel if you search for a good price.

Yes I plan on putting a 2" Rovertym or OME life on. But that will be a couple of months down the road. The only changes I'm going to make to my otherwise stock disco is put rock sliders on it. I just need some wheels and tires before I go to Tellico this March.

Default Changing rolling diameter question...

For those of you who changed your rolling diameter slightly (say from a stock 29" to 30"), did you adjust your speedometer? The website from the sticky show's a ~4% speed difference. I was also told by LR that if you change the rolling diameter, it can impact the traction control system. Is this siginificant?

i went from a 29" to a 32" and now my speedometer reads the exact speed i am doing. my disco doesnt have traction control so i dont know about that. a lot of people here have tc and im sure they can chime in.
