Default Pressure Issues/On Board Air Options

Ok So I've got the 18" factory rims wrapped in Michelin Diamaris 4x4 tires on my 04 Disco II.

My front left side tire loses pressure 5 times faster than the other tires. 6 weeks the other tires lost around 1-3 PSI, this tire loses around 20psi. There are no puncture marks or any nails in the tire (its been losing pressure rapidly for like 5 months now) nor have I heard or seen any leaks when it was wet. maybe the tire stem? The tires have their own warranty, i'm gonna have the dealership pull the whole rim off and spray it down with some soapy water to try and find the culprit. if they can't find the source?

another question. On board air compressor/CO2 tank options for the disco 2 SE7. I don't have the open rear back where I can install a large Air or CO2 tank in the side of the cargo area like many people can. Any on board, fairly inexpensive and simple options that can fit in the battery compartment where the factory jack sits currently?

Stolen; Mount that 1 as your spare, put your spare on the front. Then after it's found and fixed, you'll still have some peace of mind knowing it's on the rack, instead of on pavement duty. Probably a stem or schraeder valve in the stem. Simple check, take off the cap, and spit into the schraeder valve. The spit will fill the hole, and even if it's a slow leak, you'll get bubbles.
For onbvoard air, let me try to find you a link to the system I went with.

eBay Motors: Jeep Ford Off Road NEW Portable Air Compressor Kit 200P (item 4599347089 end time Mar-10-08 16:31:47 PDT)

Here's a similar one to the one I use. I bought two. One in the Tundra, under the seat with the jack. And one in the Rover, mounted behind the battery tray. I air down to 12 psi off road, and I can air back up to 45 in less than 5 minutes per tire.

gahhh, i'll take it and get it looked at. I've got a goodyear wrangler as my spare (same size), but my god i'd rather be driving on a low pressure michelin w/ traction than a new wrangler still lacking traction lol.

thanks looking into the on board air info.

Sorry, man. I assumed (yeah, whoops) that all of your tires were the same. Time to get a fifth diamaris. Or better yet: 16's with M/T's.

why do you think I have that wretched spare tire cover? to hide the disgusting goodyear wrangler on the back.

I'm hoping to find someone to trade with a D2 on 16"s at somepoint. I'm gonna stick with the 18"s until i find a good deal, trade, or they get damaged. I'm not sure if I go with m/ts, i think A/ts might be a bit more daily driver/long distance interstate friendly. I gotta put that first before trail worthiness, it takes me from south florida to central alabama (in 1 day) several times every few months. I need as much mileage/good wear as I can get/ with as little road noise as possible, while still being good offroad. quite a predicament.

Don't take it to the dealer, they are not set to handle that problem, just go to a tire store and have them tank the tire for leaks.

i gotta wait another week or so before I can do it anyway, I've got plenty of friends who own tire shops in my area (thanks to my street racing/drifting buddies) so I can always have them do it for free whenever I want. no biggie.

Superflow MV-50

This one was given to me as a Christmas present, just tried it out on one tire and it worked pretty good. The person who gave it to me said they had read about it in a 4x4 magazine and it got great reviews.

I saw it at Costco for around fifty dollars.

Your tire is probably not seated properly on the bead, or they didnt clean it well enough when they installed it.

I had to have 8 tires re-installed today at work because the guy who installed it, forgot to clean the rims before install. They continuously went flat over the course of a couple days.

I am obviously a little biased on the subject of 12v compressors ,but these are the best i have found for the money.
Titan Winches and Offroad recovery equipment ::

The testing and numbers given on these are actuall real world and not the manufacturers claims.
Cheers.

Stolen, I too was looking for the same thing in a tire before I moved to my m/t's and the Bridgestone REVO's were the ticket for the 16". Great wear, little road noise, very smooth and good off-road. Only draw back is the softer side walls, but I don't know if you run into much sharp rock in your neck of the woods, a sharp root etc. might get you though.

I also just bought some Nitto Terra Grapplers for my wife's rover, she has the 18's, they were not on my shopping list but Discount Tire made me a real good deal on them so I purchased them. First thing I did was take them into twenty inches of snow and they did not even flinch(like you give a shit about snow), but I have heard descent things about them on the trail. I drove her vehicle to Salt Lake tonight on the freeway and I was amazed at how smooth and quiet they were and I thought of you. Can't say anything about the kind of miles to expect out of them, but I thought I would just give you an FYI.
